Granny Takes A Trip !

It was 1967 and anyone who says they remember the Summer Of Love may also claim to have strolled the Kings Road in London just to take in the psychedelic transformation that the city went through. It was truly amazing.
Granny Takes A Trip was a shop on New Kings Road specialising in the 'far out'.
One of the ladies that worked there had the longest fingernails I had ever seen. Three inches in length painted purple with numerous silver crescent moons applied to the top of each nail.
Quite scary for a shy country boy.

I'm seen here sporting a fur coat purchased from the shop, which turned eyes and probably stomachs in conservative Trowbridge.
I thought I looked great , but I did n't attract many girls during this period , just the occasional stray cat.
