Henley on Thames
I don't recall the year , probably 1964, but I do remember that this photo booth shot was taken when I was on school holidays with Jeremy in Henley.
He had a small cabin cruiser named 'Meboat', which was great fun and we motored down the Thames during the day and at night played music . It was an exciting time, as he was the first guy I met who had the same passion for music as I. He played harmonica and bongos at that time and his charisma as a performer was very apparent even then. He was and still is very humerous and was a great showman.
On the last evening he had a party at his house, probably when his mum was out and we sang our repertoire of Everley's, Buddy Holly and the occasional Beatle song. At that stage of my guitar playing I think I struggled with Lennon/ McCartney material as they had quite difficult chords (more than three per song !) I remember having a snog with a pretty girl, who's name escapes me, and I concluded that the guitar was a definite asset in the bird pulling arena. As a skinny blond git with specs, I usually hid in a corner while the real men got stuck in. Bastards.
