Stinkie

Casper the Musical: Shaftesbury Theatre: London 2000

My favourite moment in Casper the Musical which ran from Christmas 1999 through 'til March 2000.

The picture shows Stinkie the ghost puppeteered and voiced by Glen Bowtell wooing Spookinator (Sarah Day).
The song Stinkie written by Phil Pickett & David Bell brought the house down every night . Sarah's rendition of the song and Glen's manic manipulation of the phantom menace was one of the many high spots in the show.

Casper was a lovely show , written and directed by David Bell with music from Phil and myself.
The cast included my son Oliver who played a Spookinator and has since done extensive theatre work.

Casper was written at the same time as two other musicals, The Mask & Spider-Man for The Rank Organisation, all three initially opening at their three main Butlins resorts. The six month period spent creating these was the most intense I can remember and Phil and I emerged considerably exhausted and battered by the end of it.
Including all songs and incidental music , we composed and produced in excess of 150 pieces all of which were recorded and used as live playback for the three venues.
