David H. Bell

Alliance Theatre 1994

I've been very lucky.
Especially in my introduction to the world of Theatre and Musical Theatre.
David has taught me so much.
On the home page my Jefferson award is brandished boastfully , the intention to declare status of some sort.
David has been nominated 27 times and won 8 times , which is suitably sobering.
He was also nominated for an Olivier award for his production of The Hot Mikado in London's West End.
As writer and director he has presented me with extraordinary challenges far beyond those previously required in the pop and rock field.
Always encouraging and inspiring, he would then demonstrate the genius that is Bell the choreographer.
Seemingly inexhaustible, he is invariably the first one at rehearsals and the last to leave.
Whenever I dont see him I miss him a lot .

Most of what I write now in the music field is influenced by my time spent with David, and my album of music for theatre is the summation of the works that I've done for him.
